With gratitude, honor, and pride Wahluke School District had the privilege of recognizing the following individuals and families who have dedicated so much to the benefit of our students, their families, and our entire community.
WSD recognized long-time volunteers Rio Hirai, Craig Sabin, and Darryl Jensen! Each of them has raised their children in Mattawa, and they attended and graduated from Wahluke High School. They have spent countless hours volunteering, coaching, as game staff, fans, supporters of Wahluke students, and Wahluke athletes for more than a combined 50 years.
WSD also recognized the Tapia and Buck Families. These families have strong roots in our community and district through many generations who have attended, graduated, volunteered, supported, and been employed by the district. Thank you, Buck and Tapia families, for continuing to uphold our purpose, mission, and the growth of our entire community.
During this event, WSD also had the opportunity to recognize our Warrior Image, the true meaning of a Warrior, and our partnership with the Wanapum Indians of Priest Rapids.
Con gratitud, honor y orgullo, el Distrito Escolar de Wahluke tuvo el privilegio de reconocer a las siguientes personas y familias que han dedicado tanto al beneficio de nuestros estudiantes, sus familias y toda nuestra comunidad.
¡WSD reconoció a los voluntarios de mucho tiempo Rio Hirai, Craig Sabin y Darryl Jensen! Cada uno de ellos ha criado a sus hijos en Mattawa, y asistieron y se graduaron de la escuela secundaria Wahluke. Han pasado incontables horas como voluntarios, entrenadores, personal de juegos, fanáticos, partidarios de los estudiantes de Wahluke y atletas de Wahluke durante más de 50 años combinados.
WSD también reconoció a las familias Tapia y Buck. Estas familias tienen fuertes raíces en nuestra comunidad y distrito a través de muchas generaciones que asistieron, se graduaron, se ofrecieron como voluntarias, apoyaron y fueron empleadas por el distrito. Durante este evento, WSD también tuvo la oportunidad de reconocer nuestra imagen de guerrero, el verdadero significado de un guerrero y nuestra asociación con los indios Wanapum de Priest Rapids.
